If you have a child with special educational needs,
From the 1st September 2014 Leeds Parent Partnership Service will be known as Leeds SEND Information Advice Service (Leeds Special Educational Needs and Disability Advice Support Service). The service is changing as a result of the implementation of the new Children's and Family Act and the new SEND Code of Practice.
The service will continue to remain impartial, confidential, arm's length from the Local Authority and schools, free and accessible to all parents and carers of children with special educational needs and disability.
The service will continue to offer home visits and support with school visits and meetings. The service will also continue to support parents through the old assessment process as well as the new Education Health Care plan assessment process and the transition between the two.
However, as a result of the national changes to the service the Choice Advice Service and the exclusions officer will now sit within Leeds Children's Services and can be contacted on 395 1183.
